Betolar wins Building Materials Industry Innovation Award in Paris

Betolar Plc has recently won the Building Materials Industry Innovation Award in Paris for their innovative hollow-core slab solution, Geoprime. This solution was recognized at the INTERMAT Innovation Awards at the Intermat Exhibition in Paris, where Betolar was awarded in the Building, Civil Engineering, and Concrete sector category.

The Geoprime hollow-core slab solution by Betolar produces the world’s lowest-emission hollow-core slabs, helping precast concrete manufacturers meet the demand for low-carbon construction products. This innovation is crucial as hollow-core slabs are a significant source of emissions in the construction industry, with cement being responsible for seven percent of global carbon dioxide emissions.

Betolar’s Geoprime concrete material solution allows industrial side streams to replace cement as a binder, resulting in a carbon footprint up to 75% lower than traditional cement-based slabs. This innovation not only reduces CO2 emissions but also supports the development of global markets for side streams, contributing to the company’s mission of reducing CO2 emissions and the use of virgin resources.

Founded in 2016 and based in Kannonkoski, Finland, Betolar is a materials technology company listed on the Nasdaq First North Growth Market. Their innovative solutions aim to optimize manufacturing processes, reduce emissions, and create a more sustainable concrete production industry. For more information, visit www.betolar.com.
