He emphasized the increase in domestic research, development, and manufacturing activities in the telecom industry.

Speaking at an event organized by TEPC and DoT, Subramaniam noted the rising contribution of companies engaged in R&D and manufacturing, along with the growing number of telecom patents filed in India. He praised the government’s proactive approach towards telecom as the foundation of the digital economy’s growth.

Referring to the Bharat 6G Vision Document, Subramaniam outlined the country’s goal to lead in 6G technology development and patents. He highlighted the establishment of the Bharat 6G Alliance in collaboration with TSDSI, TEC, and other stakeholders to drive innovation and global cooperation in 6G technology.

The Department of Telecommunications launched the Bharat 6G Alliance last year, aiming to foster partnerships between public and private entities, academia, and research institutions for international collaboration in 6G technology development.
