Sheila Thorne of Multicultural Healthcare Marketing Group Tackles Cultural Deficit with Expertise and Dedication

Multicultural Healthcare Marketing Group, founded in 2003 by Sheila Thorne, aims to change the healthcare narrative for People of Color. Thorne, with over 25 years of experience in healthcare marketing, noticed the lack of adequate healthcare services for people of color globally. She founded MHMG to bridge the gaps in healthcare and combat racial disparities.

Thorne’s vision is to ensure that everyone has access to quality healthcare regardless of race, age, or origin. MHMG tackles issues such as financial challenges, racial biases, and lack of health education through impactful campaigns and systemic change initiatives.

Sheila Thorne identified a lack of understanding of the challenges faced by Black, Latino, Asian, and other populations of color in the healthcare marketing industry. She is dedicated to addressing racial differences in healthcare, such as the higher risk of type 2 diabetes and hypertension in Black communities at a younger age compared to white populations.

MHMG’s campaigns focus on educating communities about health risks and providing culturally competent solutions. What started as a one-person operation in 2003 has evolved into a dedicated team working towards eliminating racial disparities in healthcare.

Looking ahead, Sheila Thorne aims to expand her vision globally by diversifying clinical trials and increasing awareness of racial health challenges. She believes that even with limited resources, tangible change can be achieved through expertise, data, and passion.

The healthcare industry is undergoing a revolution, with a focus on patient protection and addressing racial disparities. MHMG is at the forefront of this cultural movement, spearheading change in healthcare for People of Color worldwide.
