Hoskinson Hails Epic Store Listing

The sci-fi shooter game Chronoshot, powered by Cardano, was recently added to the wishlist on the Epic Games Store, marking a significant milestone for the game developer and the ADA ecosystem. Charles Hoskinson, the founder of Cardano, expressed his excitement about this achievement, stating, “Cardano Games on Epic makes me happy.”

Chronoshot brings a unique game mechanic to the table where time only progresses when the player moves. This innovative feature allows players to strategize, place shots, and plan moves against their opponents, adding depth to the gameplay. The game is currently in its early access stage and can be wishlisted on the Epic Games Store, a prominent digital distribution platform in the gaming industry.

RFLXT, the development company behind Chronoshot, shared details about the game’s early access launch through various posts on X. They announced that Chronoshot is now available for wishlisting on Epic Games, joining Chains of War & Flux Point Studio. The company aims to involve the community directly in the game’s development process by opting for an open beta instead of a closed beta. This move is part of a strategy to enhance transparency and gather user feedback.

In addition, RFLXT plans to integrate its platform more deeply with Epic Games, allowing players to use a single RFLXT account across both platforms. This integration will enable features like crossplay and seamless gameplay continuity. The company also intends to launch a beta for their platform with Chronoshot and other partner Cardano games, showcasing them at RareEvo.

One of the highlights of Chronoshot’s integration with the Cardano blockchain is the use of dynamic NFTs that provide new leveling mechanisms for characters. These NFTs are accessible to all players, regardless of their blockchain technology engagement. It is worth noting that these NFTs do not provide any competitive advantages, ensuring game balance.

The Early Access version of Chronoshot offers two single-player modes, Time Attack and Survival, both with leaderboards. The developers plan to introduce a multiplayer mode shortly after the Early Access launch to further refine the game based on user feedback. While no specific release date has been set, the full version of Chronoshot is expected to be released by the end of 2024.

Players do not need an external wallet to play Chronoshot, although they have the option to connect one to their RFLXT account. This flexibility is designed to appeal to both blockchain enthusiasts and traditional gamers. The game will remain free at its full launch, with cosmetic in-game items available for purchase that do not impact gameplay.

At the time of writing, Cardano was trading at $0.383. The article concludes with a featured image from iStock and a chart from TradingView.com depicting Cardano’s price trends.
