Barbara S. McCarty, 83, of Lowell, passed away on July 3, 2024, at her home surrounded by family. Born in Hamilton, OH, she was the daughter of Charles M. and Martha H. Burer. Barbara graduated from Lower Salem High School and married David L McCarty in 1961. Together, they owned McCarty Trucking in Lowell, and she worked at Middleton Dolls, her passion for doll collecting shining through.
A devoted wife and mother, Barbara cherished her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother. She was dedicated to her Catholic faith, a member of Our Lady of Mercy in Lowell, and enjoyed spending time with her family. Barbara’s love for softball was a treasured memory.
She is survived by her children and grandchildren, as well as siblings, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church on July 20, 2024, followed by a dinner at the Reception Hall. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery.
