Banle Energy Successfully Completed Port Klang’s First B24

Banle Energy International Limited, a subsidiary of the Banle Group (NASDAQ: BANL), recently completed two B24 biofuel bunkering services for Yang Ming Marine Transport Corporation at Port Klang in Malaysia. These services, conducted in partnership with Green Marine Supply and Armada Meridian, marked the port’s first biofuel bunkering supply and demonstrated Banle Energy’s commitment to the shipping industry’s low-carbon transformation.

In response to global calls for decarbonization, Banle Energy obtained ISCC EU and ISCC Plus certifications in 2023, positioning itself as a pioneer in the green marine fuel industry. This move aligns with the 2023 IMO Strategy on Reduction of GHG Emissions from Ships and the upcoming FuelEU Maritime Regulation, set to take effect in 2025.

The shipping industry is striving to achieve at least 5% of energy from zero-emission fuels by 2030, driving the demand for alternative fuels like biofuels, LNG, LPG, and methanol. Banle Energy’s use of B24 biofuel, a blend of UCOME and traditional marine fuel, is projected to reduce GHG emissions by 20% compared to traditional fuels.

As the industry shifts towards decarbonization, the global green marine fuel market is expected to grow significantly. Banle Energy’s successful biofuel bunkering services in Port Klang not only support this market growth but also contribute to the company’s expansion in the Asia-Pacific region.

Teck Lim Chia, Chairman and CEO of Banle Energy, expressed pride in the company’s achievements, emphasizing their commitment to sustainable development and supporting the global shipping industry’s low-carbon transition. With a focus on customer needs and expanding fuel options, Banle Energy aims to solidify its position as a leading ship fuel supplier in the region.

Port Klang’s strategic location and role in Malaysia’s economy make it an ideal hub for biofuel bunkering services. The partnership between the local refinery and Banle Energy ensures a stable biofuel supply in the region, further supporting the company’s business growth.

Established in 2015, Banle Group is dedicated to providing customers with vessel refueling solutions across major ports in the Asia Pacific region. With a focus on promoting alternative fuels and holding key certifications, Banle Group is well-positioned to meet the evolving needs of the shipping industry.
