Stock market today: Live updates

U.S. stock futures were relatively unchanged on Wednesday night following record highs for both the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite. Futures tied to the broad market index slipped slightly, as did Nasdaq 100 futures. Dow Jones Industrial Average futures also saw a minor decline.

In after-hours trading, Costco Wholesale saw a 2% increase after announcing its first membership rate hike since 2017. WD-40 Company gained 12% following a positive fiscal third quarter report.

Earlier in the day, the S&P 500 closed above 5,600 for the first time, while the Nasdaq Composite reached a record high. The Dow also saw gains.

Investors are now awaiting a key inflation report set to be released on Thursday morning. Economists are predicting a slight increase in the consumer price index for June, which could impact expectations for a rate cut in September.

Some notable companies, including PepsiCo, Delta Air Lines, and Conagra, are scheduled to report earnings before the market opens on Thursday.
