Stock futures saw a rise as the second half of 2024 began. Dow Jones Industrial Average futures added 67 points, while S&P 500 futures gained 0.1% and Nasdaq-100 futures traded marginally higher. Wall Street had a losing session after a strong finish to the first half of the year. The S&P 500 saw a 14.5% gain, while the Nasdaq Composite rallied 18.1%. The Dow Jones Industrial Average underperformed with a 3.8% gain. For the quarter, the S&P and Nasdaq added 3.9% and 8.3%, respectively, while the Dow lost 1.7%. Some experts believe that the technology-driven momentum will continue through the summer. The market will be closed on Thursday for the Fourth of July, and investors are looking forward to the June jobs report on Friday. Before that, S&P PMI manufacturing and ISM manufacturing data for June, along with May construction spending, are due out on Monday.
