SEC Suit Against Alleged Penny Stock Schemers Survives Dismissal

The Securities and Exchange Commission is moving forward with a fraud case against two individuals and their company, Blue Citi LLC. The case targets those allegedly involved in a pump-and-dump scheme worth millions of dollars. Robert and Linda Malin, the owners of Blue Citi LLC, are accused of artificially inflating the trade volume of penny stocks, then selling them off while paying kickbacks to Philip Verges, a co-defendant. On February 9, Judge Sidney Fitzwater rejected the Malins’ attempt to have the claims against them dismissed.
