Former police officer charged in connection with K-9′s death

Former Fairmount police officer Kyle Vincent is facing a misdemeanor charge in Grant County, Indiana, after his K-9 partner, Zeusz, died in his patrol car last year. Vincent, who became certified with Zeusz just a month before the dog’s death, found his body in the car’s kennel and called the police chief to report the incident. Vincent later resigned and admitted to leaving Zeusz in the car due to struggles with depression and PTSD. Indiana State Police Detective Jonathan Cole described Vincent as somber and quiet during the investigation. Vincent acknowledged his actions were reckless and expressed regret for not seeking help while struggling with mental health issues.
