ARK Launches European Innovation, Genomics ETFs

Cathie Wood’s Ark Investment Management has entered the European ETF market with the launch of three new actively managed ETFs focusing on innovation, genomics, and artificial intelligence. The ETFs are listed on Deutsche Borse and will soon be listed on the London Stock Exchange and CBOE Amsterdam, with listings on Euronext Milan and Six Swiss Exchange to follow.

The three ETFs include the ARK Innovation UCITS ETF (ARKK), ARK Genomic Revolution UCITS ETF (ARKG), and ARK Artificial Intelligence & Robotics UCITS ETF (ARKI). ARKK targets companies involved in disruptive innovation, focusing on five innovation platforms such as AI, robotics, and energy storage. ARKG focuses on companies in the genomic revolution, while ARKI invests in AI, autonomous technology, and robotics.

Cathie Wood, founder and CEO of ARK Invest, expressed excitement about bringing their successful investment strategies to European investors. The group believes in the future growth potential of AI and innovation, with Wood stating that AI could lead to a significant increase in global equity market value by 2030.

The launches are not just a response to increased interest from European investors, but also a sign of ARK Investment Management’s long-term commitment to the region. Last year, ARK acquired thematic specialist Rize ETF, which will continue to operate as the group’s sustainable sub-brand.

Overall, the new ETFs aim to capture the demand for multi-thematic investment strategies in Europe, leveraging ARK’s strong research capabilities and reputation in the industry.
