Some country-themed ETFs are outrunning SPY ETF in 3Y returns – Bespoke

The SPDR S&P 500 ETF (SPY) has seen solid returns in recent years, but there are other country-themed exchange-traded funds that have outperformed it. Bespoke Investment Group highlighted ETFs that have matched or exceeded the returns of the S&P 500 and the tech-focused Nasdaq-100 over a three-year period. The iShares MSCI Mexico ETF (EWW) has been a standout performer with a return of approximately 54%. Mexican stocks have been performing well due to a nearshoring trend and supply chain shifts. Other top performers include the Invesco India ETF (PIN) with a return of around 44% and the iShares MSCI Italy ETF (EWI) with a return of 28%. In contrast, U.S. small caps have not fared as well, with the iShares Russell 2000 ETF (IWM) showing a modest 9% return over the same three-year period.
