33 Undervalued Stocks | Morningstar

The US stock market saw a positive start to 2024, with an increase of over 10% in the first quarter, as per the Morningstar US Market Index. As we move into the second quarter, stocks appear to be fairly valued based on our metrics. Compared to a year ago, when stocks were trading at a 12% discount to fair value, the market is now trading at a slight premium.

Morningstar Chief US Market Strategist David Sekera suggests that investors should consider looking for contrarian investment opportunities in undervalued and underperforming areas. This approach may be beneficial as the market dynamics shift in 2024.

Looking at different sectors and investment styles, small-value stocks are currently the most undervalued, while large- and mid-cap growth stocks are overvalued. Industries like industrials, technology, financial services, and consumer defensive stocks are looking overvalued, whereas real estate, utilities, and communication services are undervalued.

Morningstar has compiled a list of 33 undervalued stocks to consider for the second quarter of 2024. These stocks, including companies like Adobe, Comcast, PayPal, and Tyson Foods, present potential opportunities for investors.
